Positive: It’s aesthetically pleasing, and our private king room with en-suite was a very nice room - couldn’t fault it. Staff kind and helpful.

Negative: They do not warn you or mention the shared bathrooms are actually semi-outdoors. That means you have to shower and go to the toilet amongst all the mosquitos and insects. We luckily got upgraded to the private en-suite room but otherwise I would’ve had to probably leave. They should undoubtedly tell prospective guests about these facilities - we felt somewhat misled. The pool is much thinner than it appears in photographs. Location is not great - very easy and cheap to Uber around but if you want to stay in a good location in Merida, I wouldn’t recommend choosing this hostel.

Summary: Not worth it unless you get a private en-suite room.
