Boca de Tomatlan is a quaint little fishing village 25 minute drive south of Puerto Vallarta off highway 200, nestled between lush green mountains, bisected by the beautiful river and close to the ocean. Walk to restaurants, beaches, stores, hiking, fishing, swimming, snorkeling. The beautiful natural Rio Horcones, flows past our garden gate to the sea. The most popular Las Animas beach hike starts here. Any activities or tours are easily arranged, we are close to the World famous botanical Gardens, beaches, waterfalls, sandy bottomed river pools. Spacious patios with ceiling fans, areas to relax, read, work surround the rooms, good WiFi, surrounded by the sound of birds, lush mountains, sparkling water, rooms have clean well equipped kitchens, distilled water provided, comfortable queen pillow-topped bed, shared laundry room. Quiet, safe, gated, pet and child friendly.
The space
It’s a bright breezy little apartment with balcony overlooking the garden and river, private back patio, fully stocked kitchen, bottled water and dispenser, condiments and coffee provided, private bathroom, queen pillow-top bed and a pull-out futon sofa. Bright and quaintly decorated with Mexican artifacts and art, Casa Periquitos easily feels like a tiny home away from home. The patios are breezy, beautiful and the perfect place to sit and listen to the river flow past, work on your computer, barbecue or enjoy a class of wine. We are easily accessible, close to stores, the beach, the hikes to other beaches. It is more suited to 2 people but can accommodate 2 adults and 2 kids.

To use Google maps please note that another address often shows up and will take you to the wrong place. Please use CALE DE ESCALERAS BOCA DE TOMATLAN. That will bring you into town and close to the bridge that you need to walk across to access the other side of the river where we are located. We have the best location in Boca, on the cool side of the river. Directions on how to get here: If you are coming by bus, we are the last stop before the bus turns around to return to Vallarta. You walk down the stairs till you reach the river ocean, turn left and go all the way to the end of the parking area along the river. Walk across the swinging bridge and turn right. Go about 2 blocks down the path and you will see a profusion of bougainvillea and a small green gate, slide the latch and come in. If you are coming by taxi, do the same and have the driver drop you off in front of the bridge. While here, you have access to the garden, the patios, the laundry room and able to knock on our door anytime if you need something. Keys are inside. I always send my guests directions before the arrive.
Other things to note
We have internet and a landline phone free of charge to use anytime. If you need anything, just ask. If your social that's great, so am I, but if you want your solitude, you've got it. If we are not home, and you need something, our property manager lives in Boca and his number will be provided.
