Closeburn Lodge is set on 3 acres in the beautiful farming district of Rotoorangi. Surrounded by dairy farms and lifestyle blocks you will see panoramic views of rolling pastures and distant hills. We are situated midway between the Hobbiton Movie Set and the Waitomo Glow Worm Caves, and midway between the lovely towns, Cambridge and Te Awamutu. The rooms lead out to a lovely outdoor patio with outdoor furniture and a BBQ, which is surrounded by our much loved garden and lawn. There is a swimming pool , complete with a shaded area and outdoor furniture, which is available for your use. On our property we have a very friendly cow and her calf, as well as three horses. Our family apartment has one bedroom with ensuite. There is also a living area with two single beds, and another bed can be added for an extra family member. There is no kitchen, but we provide you with supplies for a continental breakfast, electric jug and toaster, microwave, and in the summer you can cook yourself a BBQ if you wish. There are lots of lovely restaurants for dinner in nearby Te Awamutu or Cambridge. Hobbiton Movie Set is a 33 minute drive away and Waitomo Caves is a 40 minute drive. A short drive takes you to either of two lovely towns, Cambridge or Te Awamutu. A 40 Minute drive takes you to our closest city, Hamilton, where you can visit the famous and much loved Hamilton Gardens. It is just a 15 minute drive to Sanctuary Mountain, Maungatautari, where you can visit New Zealand the way it used to be –an ancient, vibrant pest-free forest alive with native wildlife. It is 1 hour 15 minutes to Rotorua. Also in our area within a short drive is Lake Karapiro, home of our Olympic Rowing Team, the Avantidrome, home of cycling in NZ, many horse training farms and studs, plus other tourist attractions. Our closest beaches are Raglan Beach on the West Coast (1 hour) and Mount Maunganui on the East Coast (1 hour 20 minutes).
