We hope you're here to relax but if you do need to work, solar power and Starlink satellite internet provide reliable connectivity. Use your favorite streaming services on the Roku television. Cook a meal in the well-equipped kitchen and dine al fresco on the terrace.

OTHER THINGS TO NOTE
KatNap Sisal is in a beautifully REMOTE and NATURAL setting.
TRANSPORTATION: You WILL NEED A CAR to reach the house and to explore the area. You may feel most comfortable with a SUV or other vehicle with higher suspension as the road from Sisal to our house is unpaved and can be quite rough. Small cars will need to drive slowly. After heavy rain there may be large potholes to navigate around, which can add an additional 10-15min to your drive.
PROVISIONS: We highly recommend bringing at least basic food and supplies on your initial arrival to the house, in case you don’t immediately want to make the drive back to town. There are small stores in Sisal as well as grocery stores, a market, pharmacies, and doctors in nearby Hunucmá. Mérida is a major city with extensive options for shopping and other services.
CONNECTIVITY: Starlink satellite provides reliable internet access. Phone signal can be spotty but most phones will operate over wi-fi.
Power outages can occur in periods of high demand or due to extreme weather but the house’s SOLAR PANELS should ensure continuity of electricity, water, and internet for about 8 hours with conservative energy use. Two flashlights are provided.
NEIGHBORHOOD: Our house is one of the first built in the Via Costela development and there are only a few other neighbors. It is very quiet but there are workers in the area during the day and you will drive through construction. There is a security guard on duty 24 hours a day.
CREATURES & CRITTERS: We’ve built a place intended to exist in concert with the natural flow of the beach and neighboring biosphere. While KatNap Sisal is full of modern amenities, we are guests in the jungle and nature is still gonna nature. Fellow beach residents who may stop by include geckos, ants/gnats/mosquitos, spiders, and the occasional scorpion (none of which are deadly but that can sting). We do fumigate inside so any insect sightings should hopefully occur outside, assuming you keep the screen doors closed.
